Dr. Pitroda is well-known as the man who inspired the "Telecom Revolution" in India and is currently the Prime Minister of India's Adviser on Public Information Infrastructure and Innovations and is Chairman of the Expert Committee on the use of ICT in Railways and National Innovation Council. He is also the Chairman of the Smart Grid Task Force set up under the aegis of the Ministry of Power, Government of India . He has recently been appointed the founding Commissioner of the United Nations Broadband Commission for Digital Development. Pratip Chaudhuri assumes charge as SBI chairman

Pratip Chaudhuri, deputy managing director (International Banking Group) SBI, on Thursday took over as the new chairman of State Bank of India, country’s biggest lender

Mumbai: Pratip Chaudhuri, deputy managing director (International Banking Group) SBI, on Thursday took over as the new chairman of State Bank of India, country’s biggest lender.

“Pratip Chaudhuri assumed charge as chairman of State Bank of India on 07 April, 2011,” the bank said in a late night statement.

Chaudhuri, who joined SBI as a probationary officer in 1974, succeeds O P Bhatt who retired last month. He has been appointed for a period of nearly two-and-a-half years. His tenure will come to an end in September 2013.

One of the biggest challenges he faces is on the special loan rates front or teaser rates. The industry would be keenly watching Chaudhuri’s moves on teaser rates as with this novel home loan product, SBI had gained critical edge on mortgage sector.

Under his predecessor, SBI has been continuing its teaser rates despite the Reserve Bank publicly expressing its dislike for it. The regulator had also raised the provision requirements for such loans.

Another major challenge facing Chaudhuri is merger of associate banks with parent SBI.

Experts said the the experience of Chaudhuri, who as the head of State Bank of Saurashtra piloted its merger with SBI, will be crucial in amalgamation of five of its associate banks.

होम्योपैथी चिकित्सा पद्दति – IIT वैज्ञानिकों की नजर मे होम्योपैथी चिकित्सा पद्दति के साथ सबसे बडी दिक्कत उ्सको प्रयोगशाला मे विशवसनीयता को साबित करना है । एक सदी से होम्योपैथी विभिन्न चिकित्सा कर्मियों और विशेषकर वैज्ञानिकों के दृष्टिकोण मे एक अनबूझी पहेली सी लगती रही है । तमाम क्लीनिकल परिणामॊ को दरकिनार रखते हुये बात उसके वैज्ञानिक प्रमाणिकता पर ही टिक जाती है । हाल ही मे IIT मुम्बई के वैज्ञानिकों ने होम्योपैथी दवाओं की कार्य प्रणाली को समझने की कोशिश की है ।IIT मुम्बई की इस टीम के अनुसार होम्योपैथी की मीठी गोलियों नैनोटेकोनोलोजी के सिद्दांत पर काम करती हैं । देखें पूरी रिपोर्ट http://homeopathyresearches.blogspot.com/2010/12/iit-b-team-shows-how-homoeopathy-works.html लेकिन मूल प्रशन कि होम्योपैथी के विरोध का कारण क्या है ? होम्योपैथिक औषधियों की न्यून मात्रा होम्योपैथिक औषधियों की न्यून मात्रा और आवोग्राद्रो ( Avogadro’s ) की परिकल्पना होम्योपैथिक औषधियों की न्यून मात्रा होम्योपैथिक औषधियों की न्यून मात्रा को विस्तार मे समझने के लिये औषधि निर्माण की प्रक्रिया को समझना पडेगा । होम्योपैथिक औषधियों मे प्राय: दो प्रकार के स्केल प्रयोग किये जाते हैं । क) डेसीमल स्केल ( Decimal Scale ) ख) सेन्टीसमल स्केल ( Centesimal Scale ) क) डेसीमल स्केल मे दवा के एक भाग को vehicle ( शुगर आग मिल्क ) के नौ भाग से एक घंटॆ तक कई चरणॊं मे विचूर्णन ( triturate ) किया जाता है । इनसे बनने वाली औषधियों को X शब्द से जाना जाता है जैसे काली फ़ास 6x इत्यादि । 1X बनाने के लिये दवा का एक भाग और दुग्ध-शर्करा का ९ भाग लेते हैं , 2X के लिये 1X का एक भाग और ९ भाग दिग्ध शर्करा का लेते हैं ; ऐसे ही आगे कई पोटेन्सी बनाने के लिये पिछली पोटेन्सी का एक भाग लेते हुये आगे की पावर को बढाते हैं । डेसीमल स्केल का प्रयोग ठॊस पदार्थॊं के लिये किया जाता है । ख) सेन्टीसमल स्केल मे दवा के एक भाग को vehicle ( एलकोहल) के ९९ भाग से सक्शन किया जाता है । इनकी इनसे बनने वाली औषधियों को दवा की शक्ति या पावर से जाना जाता है । जैसे ३०, २०० १००० आदि । सक्शन सिर्फ़ दवा के मूल अर्क को एल्कोहल मे मिलाना भर नही है बल्कि उसे सक्शन ( एक निशचित विधि से स्ट्रोक देना ) करना है । आजकल सक्शन के लिये स्वचालित मशीन का प्रयोग किया जाता है जब कि पुराने समय मे यह स्वंय ही बना सकते थे । पहली पोटेन्सी बनाने के लिये दवा के मूल अर्क का एक हिस्सा और ९९ भाग अल्कोहल लिया जाता है , इसको १० बार सक्शन कर के पहली पोटेन्सी तैयार होती है ; इसी तरह दूसरी पोटेन्सी के लिये पिछली पोटेन्सी का एक भाग और ९९ भाग अल्कोहल ; इसी तरह आगे की पोटेन्सी तैयार की जाती हैं । होम्योपैथिक औषधियों की न्यून मात्रा और आवोग्राद्रो ( Avogadro’s ) की परिकल्पना रसायन विज्ञान के नियम के अनुसार किसी भी वस्तु को तनु करने की एक परिसीमा है और इस परिसीमा मे रहते हुये यह आवशयक है कि उस तत्व का मूल स्वरुप बरकरार रहे । यह परिसीमा आवोग्राद्रो की संख्या ( 6.022 141 99 X 1023 ) से संबधित है जो होम्योपैथिक पोटेन्सी 12 C से या 24 x से मेल खाता है । यानि आम भाषा मे समझें तो होम्योपैथिक दवाओं की १२ वीं पोटेन्सी और 24 X पोटेन्सी मे दवा के तत्व विधमान रहते हैं उसके बाद नही । होम्योपैथिक के विरोधियों के हाथ यह एक तुरुप का पत्ता है और जाहिर है उन्होने इसको खूब भुनाया भी । यह बिल्कुल सत्य है कि रसायन शास्त्र के अनुसार होम्योपैथी समझ से बिल्कुल परे है । लेकिन पिछले २४ वर्षों मे १८० नियंत्रित ( controlled ) और ११८ यादृच्छिक ( randomized ) परीक्षणों को अलग -२ ४ मेटा तरीकों से होम्योपैथी का विश्लेषण करने के उपरांत प्रत्येक मामले में शोधकर्ताओं ने यह निष्कर्ष निकाला कि होम्योपैथी दवाओं से मिलने वाले परिणाम प्लीसीबो से हट कर हैं । देखें होम्योपैथी -तथ्य एवं भ्रान्तियाँ " प्रमाणित विज्ञान या केवल मीठी गोलियाँ "( Is Homeopathy a trusted science or a placebo ) IIT-B team shows how homeopathy works Source : The Times of India 16 dec 2010 Mumbai: Six months after the British Medical Association wrote off homoeopathy as “witchcraft’’ that had no scientific basis, we may now have an irrefutable answer to what makes this ancient form of medicine click. Scientists from the Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay (IIT-B) have established that the sweet white pills work on the principle of nanotechnology. Homeopathic pills—made of naturally occurring metals such as gold and copper-—retain their potency even when diluted to a nanometre or one-billionth of a metre, states the IIT-B research published in the latest issue of Homoeopathy, a peer-reviewed journal published by the reputed Elsevier. IIT-B’s chemical engineering department bought commonly available homoeopathic pills from neigbourhood shops, prepared highly diluted solutions and checked under powerful electron microscopes to find nanoparticles of the original metal. “Our paper showed that certain highly diluted homoeopathic remedies made from metals still contain measurable amounts of the starting material, even at extreme dilutions of 1 part in 10 raised to 400 (200C),’’ said Dr Jayesh Bellare. His student, Prashant Chikramane, presented the paper ‘Extreme homoeopathic dilutions retain starting materials: A nanoparticulate perspective’, as part of his doctoral thesis. IIT theory proves what some homoeopaths have always known Homoeopathy was established in the late 18th century by German physician Samuel Hahnemann. While it is widely popular in certain countries, especially India, the British Medical Association and the British parliament have in recent times questioned homoeopathy’s potency. Around four years ago, British research papers rubbished homoeopathy as a mere “placebo’’. “Homoeopathy has been a conundrum for modern medicine. Its practitioners maintained that homeopathic pills got more potent on dilution, but they could never explain the mechanism scientifically enough for the modern scientists,’’ said Bellare. For instance, if an ink-filler loaded with red ink is introduced into the Powai lake, Bellare said, there would be no chance of ever tracing it. “But the fact is that homoeopathic pills have worked in extreme dilutions and its practitioners have been able to cure tough medical conditions,” he added. “We had analyzed ayurvedic bhasmas a few years ago and found nanoparticles to be the powering agent ,” the team members said. For the first time, scientists used equipment like transmission electron microscope, electron diffraction and emission spectroscopy to map physical entities in extremely dilution. They could measure nanoparticles of gold and copper (the original metal used in the medicines). American homoeopaths—Dr Joh Ives from Samueli Institute in Virginia and Joyce C Fryce from the Centre of Integrative Medicine, University of Maryland—said, “We are all familiar with the simple calculations showing that a series of 1:99 dilutions done sequentially will produce a significant dilution of the starting material in very short order,” they wrote in a special editorial in the journal. But as dilution increases, this theory goes awry. “(But) Chikramane et al found that, contrary to our arithmetic, there are nanogram quantities of the starting material still present in these ‘high potency’ remedies.’’ The hypothesis is that nanobubbles form on the surface of the highly diluted mixtures and float to the surface, retaining the original potency. “We believe we have cracked the homoeopathy conundrum,’’ said Bellare. According to homoeopath Dr Farokh J Master, the IIT theory has proven something what practitioners have always known. “My instruction to my patients has always been to dilute the pills in water and stir it 10 times with a spoon. Then remove the spoon , dip it in another cup of water and stir 10 times. I advise my patients to do this in five cups before discarding the first four cups and then drinking the fifth cup in two equal doses,’’ said Master. हाल ही में स्कूल आफ ट्रापिकल मेडिसिन, कोलकाता के माइक्रोबायलोजी विभाग और केंद्र सरकार के संयुक्त तत्वावधान में प्रयोगशाला परीक्षण हुआ। इसमें चूहों के शरीर में पहले इंसेफ्लाइटिस के वायरस को प्रवेश कराया गया। इसके बाद इन पर बेलाडोना के असर का अध्ययन हुआ। नतीजे बेहतर आये और अमेरिकन जरनल आफ इंफेक्शियस डिजीज ने इस माह अपने ताजा अंक में प्रयोगशाला परीक्षण ने नतीजों को प्रकाशित किया है।

CCRH ( सेन्ट्रल काउन्सिल आफ़ होम्योपैथी ) द्वारा प्रयोजित विभिन्न सेन्ट्रर पर चल रहे क्लीनिकल और प्रयोगशाला परीक्षण में जे ई ( दिमागी बुखार ) पर होम्योपैथिक दवाएं काफी प्रभावी साबित हुई हैं। नतीजों से उत्साहित होम्योपैथिक विभाग ने जेई और स्वाइन फ्लू से लोगों को प्रतिरक्षित करने की एक विस्तृत योजना शासन को सौंपी है। असिस्टेंट निदेशक डा. जेपी सिंह के अनुसार बीते आठ वर्षो से गोरखपुर, महाराजगंज और देवरिया में जेई समेत अन्य सभी प्रकार के दिमागी बुखार के रोगियों को विशेषज्ञ डाक्टरों व कर्मचारियों द्वारा होम्योपैथिक दवा बेलाडोना दी गयी। मरीजों पर लगातार नजर रखी गयी। इसके नतीजे उत्साहवर्धक हैं। दवा के सेवन से न केवल ऐसे रोगी जल्दी ठीक हुए बल्कि अन्य में दिमागी बुखार के प्रति अप्रत्याशित ढंग से प्रतिरोधक क्षमता विकसित हुई है। क्लीनिकल ट्रायल के इन परिणामों पर सेंट्रल काउंसिल फाररिसर्च इन होम्योपैथी (सीसीआरएच) ने भी अपनी मुहर लगा दी है।

The homeopathic remedy Belladonna is effective in preventing Japanese Encephalitis (JE), says a recent study conducted by the Department of Microbiology at the School of Tropical Medicine in Kolkata, the Department of Clinical and Experimental Pharmacology at the School of Tropical Medicine in Kolkata, the University of Health Sciences in Kolkata, the Department of Pathology and Microbiology in West Bengal, in collaboration with the the Drug Proving Research Centre of the Central Council for Research in Homeopathy (CCRH), and the Government of India in Kolkata, and the Department of AYUSH Ministry of Health in New Delhi.

Abstract: Problem statement: No specific antiviral therapy is currently available despite an emergence and resurgence of Japanese encephalitis in South-East Asian Countries.

There are only few recent studies, which were aimed to treat Japanese encephalitis with newer drugs. There is thus a real need for study on antiviral agents that can reduce the toll of death and neurological sequelae resulting from infection with this virus.

Approach: Optimum dilution of the JE virus was determined which could produce significant number of pocks on Chorioallantoic Membrane (CAM). Then ultradiluted Belladonna preparations were used to see their inhibitory action on JE virus infection in CAM.
Results: Ultradiluted Belladonna showed significantly decreased pock count in CAM in comparison to JE virus control.

Conclusion: Ultradiluted Belladonna could inhibit JE virus infection in CAM, which may be mediated through glycosidase inhibitory role of calystegines present in Belladonna.

पिछ्ले दिनों ICRH पर कैन्सर कोशिकाओं पर होम्योपैथिक दवाओं के प्रयोगों पर दो रिसर्च पेपर पब्लिश हुये । कल्याणी यूनिवर्सिटी के श्री अनीसुर रहमान खुदाबख्श और उनके सहयोगियों का ’Homeopathic drugs Natrum sulphuricum and Carcinosin prevent azo dye-induced hepatocarcinogenesis in mice’ और आमला कैन्सर रिसर्च सेन्टर , केरल के रामदास कुटन , हरीकुमार और अन्य का शोध पत्र , ’ Inhibition of Chemically Induced Carcinogenesis by Drugs Used in Homeopathic Medicine ’ । इन दोनों शोध पत्रों मे ’ Inhibition of Chemically Induced Carcinogenesis by Drugs Used in Homeopathic Medicine ’ मे लगभग वही तथ्यों को दोहराया गया जो इसके पहले प्रशान्त बैनर्जी कैन्सर रिसर्च फ़ाउन्डेशन ने अपने कई शोध पत्रों मे रुटा और उअसके पर्योगों पर दिये थे , देखें विस्तृत वर्णन के लिये यहाँ ।

लेकिन बात करते हैं अनीसुर रहमान खुदाबख्श के शोध पत्र की । यह पेपर लीक से हट्कर था । प्रथम तो इसमे होम्योपैथी के मूलभूत सिद्धातों ( एकमैव औषधि- single medicine ) को नजरांदाज किया गया और दूसरा औषधि के परीक्षण के लिये चूहों का सहारा लिया गया । तो सबसे पहले विवरण :

इस शोध का मकसद होम्योपैथिक औषधि कारसीनोसिन २०० ( carcinocin 200 ) और नैट्रेम सल्फ़ ३० ( Nat sulph-30) का कार्य p-dimethylaminoazobenzene (p-DAB) and phenobarbital (PB) रसायन खिलाकर लिवर कैन्सर से पीडित हुये चूहों पर देखना था ।

इसके लिये चूहों को सात उप समूहों मे विभाजित किया गया ।
१. सामान्य अनुपचारित;
२. सामान्य + एल्कोहल उपचारित

इन चूहों को क्रमश: ३०. ६०. ९०.और १२० दिनों के अंतराल पर मारकर उनके cytogenetical end-points जैसे chromosome aberrations, micronuclei, mitotic index , sperm head anomaly और cytotoxicity का विशलेषण किया गया । इसके अलावा, इलेक्ट्रॉन सूक्ष्म अध्ययन और मैट्रिक्स metalloproteinases के लिए जेलाटीन zymography (एम एम पी) जिगर में 90 और 120 पर किये गये ।

परिणाम :
परिणाम दिखाते हैं कि सिर्फ़ नैट्रेम सल्फ़ ३० ( Nat sulph-30) पर रखे गये कैन्सर से पीडित चूहों और कारसीनोसिन २०० को नैट्र्म सल्फ़ के साथ संयोजित करके चूहों मे लीवर की कई गांठॊ ( liver tumours ) मे व्यापक सुधार दिखाई दिया और कई क्षेत्रों मे सकारात्मक और संरचनात्मक परिवर्तन दिखाई दिये जैसे MMPs expression, genotoxic parameters, lipid peroxidation, y-glutamyl transferase, lactate dehydrogenase, blood glucose, bilirubin, creatinine, urea and increased GSH, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, superoxide dismutase, catalase, glutathione reductase activities and hemoglobin, cholesterol, and albumin levels.मे व्यापक सुधार दिखाई दिया ।
नैट्रेम सल्फ़ ३० (Nat sulph-30 )के साथ carcinocin 200 (कारसीनोसिन २००) को देने से genotoxicity , cytotoxicity hepatotoxicity के खिलाफ अतिरिक्त लाभ दिखाई दिये

The study was undertaken to examine whether Carcinosin-200 (Car-200) could provide additional ameliorative effect, if used intermittently with Natrum sulphuricum-30 (Nat sulph-30) against hepatocarcinogenesis induced by chronic feeding of p-dimethylaminoazobenzene (p-DAB) and phenobarbital (PB) in mice (Mus musculus).

Mice were randomly divided into seven sub-groups:
(i) normal untreated;
(ii) normal+succussed alcohol;
(iii) p-DAB (0.06%) + PB (0.05%);
(iv) p-DAB + PB +succussed alcohol
(v) p-DAB + PB + Nat sulph-30,
(vi) p-DAB + PB + Car-200, and
(vii) p-DAB + PB + Nat sulph-30+Car-200.

They were sacrificed at 30, 60, 90 and 120 days for assessment of genotoxicity through cytogenetical end-points like chromosome aberrations, micronuclei, mitotic index and sperm head anomaly and cytotoxicity through assay of widely accepted biomarkers and pathophysiological parameters.

Additionally, electron microscopic studies and gelatin zymography for matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) were conducted in liver at 90 and 120 days.

Results showed that administration of Nat sulph-30 alone and in combination with Car-200 reduced the liver tumors with positive ultra- structural changes and in MMPs expression, genotoxic parameters, lipid peroxidation, y-glutamyl transferase, lactate dehydrogenase, blood glucose, bilirubin, creatinine, urea and increased GSH, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, superoxide dismutase, catalase, glutathione reductase activities and hemoglobin, cholesterol, and albumin levels.

Thus intermittent use of Car-200 along with Nat sulph-30 yielded additional benefit against genotoxicity, cytotoxicity hepatotoxicity and oxidative stress induced by the carcinogens during hepatocarcinogenesis.

आपको लगता होगा कि मिर्च खाकर सिर्फ मुंह में ही जलन होती है पर वैज्ञानिकों ने पता लगाया है कि इससे शरीर का फैट भी जलता है। यकीनन इससे अच्छी बात क्या हो सकती है क्योंकि मिर्च खाइए और मोटापे की चिंता भूल जाइए

टेलीग्राफ की रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक कैलिफॉर्निया यूनिवर्सिटी के रिसर्चरों ने रिसर्च में पाया कि मिर्च खाने से शरीर में जो हीट बनती है, वह हमारे कैलरी उपभोग को बढ़ाती है और फैट की परतों को पतला करती है। और हां, अगर आप ज्यादा तीखी मिर्च नहीं खा पाते तो भी गुड न्यूज है।

रिसर्चरों ने पाया कि कैपसेइसिन नाम का मेन तत्व कुछ कम तीखी मिर्चों में भी होता है। रिसर्चरों ने 34 पुरुषों और महिलाओं पर 28 दिन तक परीक्षण के बाद यह नतीजा निकाला।

आज पहली मई है,



गुजरात का स्थापना दिवस.



गुजरातियों की ५० साल – अर्ध शताब्दी की पुरुषार्थ यात्रा.



गुजरात की स्थापना के लिए कई होनहार युवाओ ने बलिदान दिया है.



कई पीढ़ियों ने गुजरात की प्रगति के लिए अपनी जवानी न्यौच्छावर की है. अकाल हो, बाढ़ हो, चक्रवात हो या भूकंप हो – ऐसी कई आपदाओं का न केवल सामना किया बल्कि हर बार आपदा को एक अवसर के रूप में परिवर्तित भी किया है.



गुजरात की विकास यात्रा कई बार राजनीतिक कूटनीति का शिकार भी बनी, परंतु राजनीतिक इच्छाशक्ति से विकास की गाड़ी पटरी पर वापस लौट आई एवं पूरी रफ्तार से आगे बढ रही है.



गरीब से गरीब आदमी हो, साक्षर हो या अनपढ़, शहरी हो या ग्रामीण, पुरुष हो या महिला, युवा हो या वरिष्ठ हो – हर एक गुजराती ने गुजरात को आगे बढाने में कुछ ना कुछ योगदान जरूर दिया है.



गुजरात को प्यार करने वाले सभी लोगों का आभार व्यक्त करने का यह अवसर है.
